[typography font="Homemade Apple" size="22" size_format="px"]With the vivid fall colors Napa is never more alive than in autumn![/typography]

I love being in the Napa Valley during the fall. The vineyard collage of gold, red and orange provides the most incredible kaleidoscope of color. The birch, elm and liquid amber trees add lacy accents to the edges of town and vineyards {where these shots were taken in Yountville}.

The month of November is filled with a whirlwind of fun events to welcome the holiday season {in addition to your standard wine tastings}. Some of my favorite events include: The Napa Valley Film Festival, Holiday in Carneros, Flavor! Napa Valley and the Festival of Lights. For travelers planning their wine country getaway, make your reservations early, as this is a very popular time of the year. Ole!

di Rosa Preserve: Art, Nature and Fashion

 [typography font="Homemade Apple" size="22" size_format="px"]Mixing art, nature and fashion…[/typography]

If you’ve ever driven through the Carneros region of the Napa Valley you may have spotted a flock of sheep grazing on a low hillside, beckoning you to come closer. These are no ordinary sheep, but are flat sculptures that welcome you to the Di Rosa Preserve.

[typography font="Homemade Apple" size="22" size_format="px"]A unique, whimsical and unforgettable place… [/typography]

As soon as you step into the courtyard you’re surrounded by dozens of sculptures, peacocks, and a 217 acre preserve filled with art & nature. This walking art gallery became my backdrop for a fashion photo shoot {Score! I was like a kid in a candy store}.

The setting is quite magical, almost as if you walked into the Alice in Wonderland movie. It's filled with grassy meadows, lush vineyards, gently rolling hills and a placid lake, which is home to over 2,000 works of art.

Fall fashion: With the chillier days and nights, it’s fun to spruce up and combine fall colors {orange, brown and blue tones.} Color blocking is fashion forward & an effortless way to add a bit of pop to your outfit. I chose this royal blue mini dress, my long patterned coat and boots to create a comfy yet stylish outfit fit for an afternoon of walking and exploring the di Rosa preserve.

You can feel the energy and spirit of two extraordinary individuals, Rene and Veronica di Rosa, who have made this preserve come to life with their imagination, passion, and unending love affair with art and nature. This place is simply amazing. Click here for more details on visiting. Ole!

Keeping It Classy With The Cambridge Satchel

FashionComment

[typography font="Homemade Apple" size="22" size_format="px"]It's not a man purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one...[/typography]

The Cambridge Satchel. Doesn’t it have a nice ring to it? I came across this stunning leather number a few months ago when one of our Ceja Vineyards wine club members strolled into the tasting room sporting a beautiful red Cambridge Satchel. Like most bold colored statement pieces, it caught my eye and I was immediately smitten.

Not only is it classy and sophisticated, but it also attracts both women AND men. It comes in a variety of styles, tons of different colors and can be personalized with your embossed signature.

I love how edgy it looks and how it adds that splash of color to dull corporate outfits. On weekends pair it with jeans, a white V-neck tee, cowboy boots and go!

A little note to all satchel lovers - they are made in the UK so yes, it costs a little more dinero but it so worth the extra splurge. This is one of my top picks for the season and will remain a timeless classic piece. Ole!

{Theory dress, BCBG sandals, & Cambridge Satchel Co. yellow satchel}

Fun Facts: It didn't take long for these handmade satchels—once hailed as the UK's best-kept secret—to become the "It" bag for fashion insiders. The mother-daughter owned Cambridge Satchel Company originally made their traditional British school satchels in just two colors but recently started creating these super cool highlighter-hued versions.

P.s. For those looking for a stunning new laptop carrier, the Batchel is very, very alluring. Ole!

Here's to wishing you all a very fabulous weekend! besos

Zen on Two Wheels

  [typography font="Homemade Apple" size="22" size_format="px"]Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride... - John F. Kennedy[/typography]

Since moving to downtown Napa, I’ve been obsessed with the idea of owning a pretty cruiser with a basket and bell attached {to stylishly cruise around town}. My wish was granted a few months ago when my boyfriend surprised me with the most thoughtful gift – my very own mint green & cream cruiser! I swear, it was love at first sight.

There is something so liberating and freeing when you’re holding those handlebars and the wind is gently blowing through your hair. I love everything about biking and find it to be completely and totally relaxing. Living in downtown Napa makes cruising so accessible, especially with all of the great restaurants, tasting rooms and boutiques at your beck and call.

One of my favorite afternoon rides has been to the Oxbow Market, where I find myself gravitating toward Three Twins ice cream for a tasty treat {the Cardamom Spice & Earl Grey flavors are amazing!}. Ole!

P.s. Sunset rides are the best. Ole!

Hot Fall Trend: Burnt Orange

FashionComment

{Photo courtesy of the beautiful Lianne Milton, Jacket by Forever 21}

In my opinion, this color is the hottest shade for 2011. I seem to gravitate toward all things burnt orange. It's a warm, glowing hue which adds a surprising pop of color.

Burnt orange is the perfect transition from summer’s redundant bold color obsession, gradually shifting the color wheel like the slow change of fall leaves. The addition of this vibrant color seems to attract eyes, keeping conversation interesting and the palette playful…

Do yourself a favor and include a dash of color in your life, I promise you the effect will feel positive {and will surely give you a confidence boost!} All eyes will be on you. Ole!
